Prefabricados Delta has been the winner of the Technical Innovation award granted by SMAGUA Feria de Zaragoza 2021 for manufacturing the first pipe made in Spain, with the technology of the pre-estressed concrete pipe with a steel cylinder, double elastic joint with a nominal diameter of 2000.

This pipe consists of a length of 6 meters, a high-strength concrete core covered with a 1.5 mm steel cylinder that gives it watertightness, and an active reinforcement formed by a 5 mm diameter wire wound helically around nucleus. This set, called primary (resistant element), is covered last with an outer layer of concrete whose mission is to protect the active reinforcement. Regarding the joints, for this conduction the double elastic joint solution has been adopted, which is made by means of metal heads and in which a valve is added to check the joint during the installation of each pipe. The male head consists of two grooves in which an elastomeric ring with a diameter of 23 mm consisting of two O-rings will be housed during the assembly process. The female head has a flared shape. This is an easy-to-fit gasket and, due to strict manufacturing tolerances, a highly guaranteed watertight joint.
