Concrete segments for viaducts

Prefabricados Delta built precast segments for viaducts on the Despeñaperros by-pass on Spain’s A-4 motorway.

These are precast concrete segments for viaducts with span sizes of 45m and 39m for a road width of 13.5m. They are built using the ‘conjugate gradient’ method so that one ring stone is used as the formwork for the face in contact with another ring stone. This ensures a perfect fit between the two.
