Adif has awarded the contract for the supply, transport and unloading of biblock sleeper for ballaslest track systems for the renovation of the tunnel to a Consortium of Prefabricados Delta with another company for an amount of 3,918,214 euros.

The Recoletos tunnel, communicates the stations of Atocha and Chamartín, through the intermediate stations of Recoletos and Nuevos Ministerios. This infrastructure serves the C-1, C-2, C-7, C-8 and C-10 Suburban lines, as well as medium and long distance trains. At the moment, it is the section that more circulations supports of all the Spanish rail network, with about 3,300 circulations weekly.
